The Scoop: Season 6, Episode 7

The Scoop: Season 6, Episode 6

Temple defensive tackle Ifeanyi Maijeh, a first-team all-American Athletic Conference selection in 2019, joined The Scoop Friday to talk about his breakout season and offer a look at the Owls' defense - and he even recommended a couple of good pizza places in New York, too, as he answered some mailbag questions. 

We also have clips from Owls head coach Rod Carey and defensive coordinator Jeff Knowles as next Saturday's season opener at Navy approaches. 

The Scoop: Season 6, Episode 5

Former Temple forward Julian Dunkley, who now coaches local players through his Difference Makers Program, was a guest of The Scoop this week to talk about Temple commits Zach Hicks and Hysier Miller and recall his playing days on North Broad Street. Dunkley has worked closely with Hicks, the 6-foot-8 forward from Camden Catholic High School, and didn't mince words when talking about his potential.

The Scoop: Season 6, Episode 4

Philly Pride AAU Coach Brandon Williams joined The Scoop this week to talk about Camden Catholic High School forward and Temple commit Zach Hicks, who plays for him on the AAU circuit. Williams also talked about fellow Temple commit and Neumann-Goretti High School point guard Hysier Miller and shared his thoughts on Aaron McKie, his staff and the direction of the Temple program.

The Scoop: Season 6, Episode 3

TheScoop - Season 6, Episode 2

Aaron McKie landed his second verbal commitment Friday from the 2021 class in Camden Catholic High School forward Zach Hicks. We talked about what it means for the program and the Owls on this week's episode of The Scoop, and there's plenty to cover with football as Temple continues to prepare for its upcoming season opener Sept. 26 at Navy.

The football portion of the podcast includes audio from Owls head coach Rod Carey, wide receivers coach Thad Ward and Senior Associate Athletic Director Vinny James, who talked about the challenges of filling out a schedule during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

 

The Scoop: Season 6, Episode 1

In the first episode of our sixth season, John DiCarlo, Sam Neumann and Sam Cohn take a look at Temple's offensive line as the Owls continue through preseason camp and prepare for what as of now would be their season opener Sept. 26 at Navy. You'll hear audio from offensive line coach Joe Tripodi, center C.J. Perez, right tackle Adam Klein and guard Vincent Picozzi, as well as answers to football and basketball mailbag questions. 

The Scoop: Season 5, Episode 47

Temple has landed its first verbal commitment from the 2021 class in Neumann Goretti High School point guard Hysier Miller, and Saints assistant coach John Brennan joined The Scoop this week to provide some insight into Miller's game and what he can bring to the Owls. 

We also talk about the status of the 2020 college football season and dove into a loaded mailbag this week that had us talking about everything from recruiting to hoagies. 

The Scoop: Season 5, Episode 46

With NFL training camps set to kick off later this month, Carolina Panthers tight end Colin Thompson will have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot with his former head coach, Matt Rhule, and be reunited with several of his former Temple teammates. Thompson joined the OwlScoop.com podcast to talk about the challenges awaiting him, the NFL and the NCAA as they try to play football amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and he also weighed in on the returning Owls roster and answered mailbag questions, too. 

The Scoop: Season 5, Episode 45

Temple guard Damian Dunn joined OwlScoop.com's podcast this week to talk about how he has worked to return from a foot injury that sidelined him for all but one game of his freshman season. Dunn, who played at Georgia's Meadowcreek High School and grew up in Kinston, North Carolina, also talked about returning to campus during a time when the nation is battling racial injustice and navigating the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dunn, who also shared some details about being recruited by Owls head coach and former Sixers and NBA veteran Aaron McKie, will be one of just six returning Temple players that will welcome six more newcomers - four high school players and two transfers - from the 2020 recruiting class. He talked about the relationship he's formed with backcourt mate Tai Strickland and what Owls fans can expect from the Wisconsin transfer after he sat out last season and practiced with the team.  

John DiCarlo, Sam Cohn and Sam Neumann also talked about the latest football and basketball recruiting updates and answered some reader mailbag questions as well.
