Jahlil White had been playing some of the better basketball of his career prior to Temple's overtime loss at ECU Sunday, when the redshirt-junior guard was hampered by foul trouble and held scoreless for the first time since November of 2022.
On this week's episode of The Scoop, White told OwlScoop that he feels the Owls beat themselves and have the talent necessary to snap their six-game losing streak, starting Sunday at Tulane. Beyond this season, White talked about what got him into the game of basketball while growing up near the Jersey Shore in Whitesboro, his career at Wildwood Catholic High School, why he's excited about Temple's 2024 recruits in Dillon Battie and Aiden Tobiason, and why he's interested in becoming an agent once his basketball playing career is done.
We also talked more about Diane Richardson's Temple women's basketball team as they continue to fight for one of the top four spots in the American Athletic Conference standings, and we answered a mailbag full of football, basketball and recruiting questions.

Former Temple linebacker Jordan Magee joined us on The Scoop this week to talk about what's next for him as he prepares for April's NFL Draft. The second-team all-American Athletic Conference selection led the Owls in tackles for a second consecutive season and posted 14 TFL, and now he's training in Fort Myers, Florida as he continues to recover from a torn right biceps that prematurely ended his 2023 season and his Temple career. The Dover, Delaware native talked about his draft prep and where he is with his recovery, and OwlScoop.com subscribers will have access to our full interview with Magee later this week.
John DiCarlo and Declan Landis also recapped a tough week for Adam Fisher's men's basketball team and a big win for Diane Richardson's women's squad and answered mailbag questions about Stan Drayton's football team and even the Justice League in this week's mailbag.

Eight years later, when Fisher got his first head coaching job, Huger was his first hire at Temple and became Fisher's associate head coach.

While Adam Fisher’s Temple men’s basketball team looked very much like a rebuilding program with a first-year head coach in its loss to ECU Wednesday night, Diane Richardson’s women’s team is starting to hit its stride and could be playing for first place in the American Athletic Conference standings next week.
We talked about that, along with Temple’s ever-evolving football roster as Stan Drayton’s program continues to lose and gain players through the transfer portal, as well as the high school and junior college ranks.
And in this week’s mailbag, we’ll tell you why it’s possible to feel optimistic about the Temple football program after consecutive 3-9 seasons, and we answered an age-old question about what the athletic department could and should do to address low attendance numbers at the Liacouras Center.
